Robert Elson graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law in 2001, and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2002. Robert is a member of The Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Robert has served as an Assistant Attorney General, where he practiced in the area of Corrections Litigation. Robert has also served as an Assistant State Attorney, where he prosecuted DUI and Traffic offenses, and served as Traffic Division Supervisor. While an Assistant State Attorney, Robert was an invited speaker on the topics of 4th Amendment Search & Seizure, Traffic Stops, and DUI Investigations at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy; and was an invited panelist for the FSU College of Law Student Bar Association’s Search & Seizure Panel. Robert is a former Associate of the Jolly & Peterson Law Firm, where he practiced in the areas of Law Enforcement Liability defense and Employment defense. Most recently, Robert held the position of DUI Staff Attorney for the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association, where he managed a Federal grant for, and facilitated training of, prosecutors and law enforcement officers throughout Florida in DUI law, DUI prosecution, and trial advocacy skills. Robert opened The Elson Law Firm in January 2006. The firm’s emphasis is DUI Defense, Traffic Defense, and misdemeanor Criminal Defense. The firm also represents individuals in civil litigation involving Contract Law, Consumer Law, Landlord-Tenant Law, Personal Injury, Premises Liability, Products Liability, Employment Law, Governmental Liability, Tort Law, and more. |
